LPO France Board members as elected during the June 2021 General Assembly.

  • President

    Image Description

    Allain has presented animal TV programs which have raised the awareness of millions of people over the years, he is still taking part in radio programs and columns today. He produced and directed numerous animal documentaries, and wrote about 15 books.
    He is a member of several bodies including the Foundation for Research on Biodiversity, he is involved in many national and international organizations dedicated to biodiversity.

    Dominique is an executive of mutual insurance companies, today Vice-President of the Marine Nature Park of Gironde Estuary and Charente straits. Originally from Île de Ré, he is interested in seas and oceans, coastline and ecosystems of coastal marshes. He was president of the CESER of New Aquitaine region from 2018 to 2021.

    Retired from the National Education, Philippe is director of the National Nature Reserve of the Seven Islands, editing director of L’Oiseau Magazine and Vice-President of the French Coastal Conservatory. He is a founding member of the Mayotte Bird Study and Protection Group (GEPOMAY) and an expert of the French Committee of the IUCN. He is also part of the International Ornithological Film Festival (FIFO) of Ménigoute.

    Image Description

    Retired teacher in a small village in the heart of the Northern Vosges, Yves has been passionate about birds and nature for over 50 years. He was president of the Centre for Ornithological Studies of Alsace from 1986 to 1993, and is currently president of the LPO Alsace. He has been administrator of the LPO France since 2015 and has coordinated the survey and publication of the French bird atlas.

    Image Description

    Originally from Alsace, former executive in a large French company, Marie-Paule joined the LPO in 1970, then she joined CORA in 1977, and finally participated in the merger with the LPO in 2018. She has been president of the LPO Auvergne Rhône-Alpes since its creation. She is especially committed to the protection of the mountain environment, and in particular the Galliformes.

    Image Description

    Administrating the LPO since 2014, Maud is a lawyer in environmental law and a graduate in political science. Passionate about ecological issues since childhood, she chairs the French committee and was elected in September 2021 as Regional Councillor for Western Europe of the IUCN. She also sits on the National Council for Ecological Transition on behalf of the LPO and is General Delegate of the association Les Eco-maires.

    A native of the Poitevin Marsh, Michel started ornithology in Vendée in the 70s. He developed a passion for naturalist photography and became a professional. He started working for the LPO France in the early 80's in a small team of 5 people (250 today!). He became administrator in 2004, then treasurer until today.

    Her interest in biodiversity led Christine to study natural sciences and ecology at university and to to become a volunteer in associations, including the LPO since 2003. She sits in the governance bodies of the LPO New Aquitaine. She is vice-president of the CESER and president of the Environment Commission.

    In 1978, at the age of 23, he created the Study Group of the Avifauna of Indre (GEAI) which has since become Indre Nature. As a general naturalist with a passion for the observation and study of all fauna and flora, he has a particular interest in avifauna. Former President of the LPO Nord, he is now an administrator.

    An expert in public polices and private strategies in environment, Anne-Marie chaired the National Council for Sustainable Development, then the environment commission of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council for ten years. She currently chairs the National Association for the Protection of the Night Sky and Environment.

    A geographer by training, Jean-Michel is retired from the Regional Direction of the Environment, Development and Housing of Normandy. He joined the Ornithological Group and then the Mammalogical Group of Normandy in the 80s. He was Regional Councillor of Upper Normandy from 1992 to 2004. He has been administrator of the LPO Normandy since 2016.

    Alain left his native Loire where he was a member of the LPO since its merger with CORA in 1998, to the Hautes-Alpes where he lives today. Administrator of the LPO Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur, he is a member of the Departmental Commission of hunting and wildlife of the High Alpss. He is committed to the protection of mountain Galliformes.

    Evelyne, retired from the National Education, is currently President of the LPO Tarn and coordinator of Refuges LPO for this departement. She joined the board of directors of LPO France in 2016. Her goal is to convince elected officials and decision-makers of the importance of protecting biodiversity, respecting life, and to share her passion for nature with the general public.

    Image Description

    Monitor at Mercantour National Park, Christian is also part of the scientific department and the Office of the IUCN Species Survival Commission. He particularly followed the reintroduction of the bearded vulture with the Italian Park of Argentera. He is a long-standing member of the Raptors Intervention Fund, who still presides over the LPO's "raptors" commission.

    Image Description

    A naturalist since childhood, an agricultural engineer and a researcher, Olivier has always been interested in community knowledge of wildlife. He has been helping the development of naturalist data collection systems since their creation, of which Faune-France.org is the national umbrella. Former president of the LPO in Aquitaine, he is the regional delegate for the New Aquitaine region.

    Member of the LPO for about fifty years, Guilhem feels an emotional and reasonable attachment to the association. Emotional because... the first loves are strong; reasonable because if the commitment for birds and nature is a priority, the action of the LPO addresses this concern effectively. He is one of the two representatives of the LPO at the EESC.

    Honorary President of the French Committee of the IUCN, which he chaired for six years, member of the Environmental Authority, administrator of the National Institute for Agronomic Research, the Foundation for Research on Biodiversity and the Office for Insects and Their Environment, François has been administrating the LPO for a long time. He is the founding president of the French Nature Festival (Fête de la Nature) and co-chairs the scientific and ethical council of the Park and Biosphere Reserve of Camargue.

    Former director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pierre joined the LPO in the 60s. He studied different species of diurnal and nocturnal birds of prey, and participated in reintroducing vultures in the Verdon gorges. He initiated the creation of the LPO Hérault and now presides over the new LPO Occitania. He administrates the network of care centers.

    Frédéric is a retired science teacher. After working on Algerian ornithology, he specialized in urban ornithology when he returned to Paris. First within the Corif (of which he was the last president), then at the LPO Ile-de-France, created in 2018 from the Corif-LPO merger and of which he was the first regional delegate. He coordinated the atlas of nesting birds of Greater Paris.

    Passionate about birds since her youth, Brigitte has been a member of the LPO for many years and a volunteer of the LPO Touraine delegation. She has been an administrator of the LPO Touraine and the "refuges" referent for two years. She joined the board of the LPO France in 2020.

    A former member of the Raptors Intervention Fund, Bernard has been a keen observer of nature for 50 years. The defense of the biodiversity is at the top of the list of his priorities. Bernard was treasurer and then President of the LPO Franche-Comté, he was elected at the beginning of 2021 President of the new LPO Bourgogne Franche-Comté. He worked in the medico-social sector.

    Member and activist in the Rhône for over 30 years, Elisabeth joined the LPO Board in September 2020. She was president of the LPO Rhone from 2010 to 2018, she serves on CDCFS. She is president of the college of associations at CESER AuRA. She is actively involved in the development and promotion of LPO Refuges.

    Committed to the LPO since 1994, former employee then president of the LPO Vendée, farmer himself, Frédéric is co-founder of the network "Paysans de Nature".
    The action he initiated and animates with the LPO in the Breton marshes allows to manage 1500 ha of protected natural agricultural areas for the benefit of wildlife.

    Dominique is a retired business executive with a keen interest in fauna, flora and nature protection. She joined the LPO as a volunteer in the Ile de France region 20 years ago. Back in Brittany, she became delegate of the association in 2016, then Vice-President of the LPO Bretagne when it was created in 2019.
